 Some people have asked (Ken!) about the December 6th signing in Las Vegas, and if it's still on. I've been remiss in mentioning it, what with the move and some computer issues that have kept me from updating my site, and I apologize for that. The signing is, indeed, still on, and I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be on the same stage with Lynsay Sands.

More info can be found at the Clark County Library's page
here, but I'll save you the trouble going elsewhere by posting it below:

An Evening with Lynsay Sands and Vicki Pettersson: Holidays are Hell

Author: Lynsay Sands and Vicki Pettersson

Wonderful or horrible, holidays have always been magical. Lynsay Sands, New York Times best selling author, and rising star of the urban fantasy genre, Vicki Pettersson, will spend an evening discussing the connections between our world and the supernatural in their new anthology, Holidays Are Hell, a spellbinding look at what happens when the magic of the holidays is unleashed.  This program is presented in conjunction with HarperCollins Publishers. A reception and book signing will follow the talk.

Let me just add that Suzanne Scott, who is in charge of these author events, absolutely kills it when it comes to presentation and making both authors and readers feel at home. I've attended as both; as a reader I've seen Laurell K. Hamilton  and Janet Evanovich speak and sign there, and as a writer I've done the same with Kim Harrison. We were both blown away by the welcome, and that signing had to be one of the highlights of my professional life.

So here's the deal: If you happen to be in Las Vegas and you want to attend the signing, drop me a line at vickiATvickipetterssonDOTcom and we'll set up a group date to go out for drinks afterward. It's an intimate event and I'd like to continue the tradition of meeting with my readers (last March it was morning coffee to celebrate the release of THE TASTE OF NIGHT). The Peppermill would be a good venue as it's featured in the books, and the fireside lounge inside is wonderful fun in the winter.

Sound good?

LV signing
WOO-HOO!! I am going to try to get the day off. I would love to go to your signing again. I was there when you last signed with Kim Harrison. As for cocktails that sounds like a blast. I wish more authors would mingle with their fans the way you like to. Sign me up!

Re: LV signing
Oh crap, I just remembered that I have a dinner and show, Andres @ the Monte Carlo and then Lance Burton...that night. I put in the request at my job last week. I think the show would get over at about 830 or so. I might be able to at least meet at the Peppermill if thats not going to be too late?

Re: LV signing
No that's not too late. We'll probably just be finishing up with the signing around then. We'll be at the Pmill way beyond that. {g}

See you there!

Re: LV Signing
Yippee! It'll be great to see you.

You're staying in Vegas for the night, right? Don't want you driving back after the P-mill.

Wow. I left Las Vegas nearly 20 years ago for college; I never saw anything as cool as this while I was in high school. It might be time to watch for future events and consider a visit back there!

Everyone who can make it, I sure hope you have a lot of fun!!!

I don't know when you were last back, but now that we're sitting at 2 million people, they're really working to get more here than showgirls and slots.

Though I do miss the 99-cent breakfasts. {sigh}

I was last there 15 years ago, just after I turned 21- I don't like gambling, so I was bored.
I'm glad that they're trying to get it to be more than just showgirls and slots, though- that certainly makes it more interesting for me. :-)

Any chance of a book signing up in New England?

New England?
I wish.
Not yet, but I hope to someday. Funny, you're my age. What high school did you go to?

Sorry about the LVHS thing. {g,d&r}

ROFL... LV wasn't that bad. I mean, I was a geek, and I hung out with the science teachers and other geeks.
Did you ever watch Freaks & Geeks? That was me... LOL

I like the idea of those pneumatic tube things they use at the banks. Just make them a bit bigger, and be able to type in destinations, and we're all set!

Location, Location
I know that Kim lives some where in South Carolina cuz that's where I live. I would love to come out to Las Vegas just for you two, but my mother would never let me. Plus I would miss school...and get behind on yearbook deadlines...yeah, sounds good. I should book a flight here....Are kidding me? It would be laugh though to see my mother's reaction.

For goodness' sake, don't get in trouble over this! There will be other signings.

OTOH, it's a nice thought and it's the thought that counts, right?

Don't know yet, but my guess is yes, around the release of TOUCH.

I'll post something more definitive in the next couple of months!

I'll mention the event in this weeks Celebrations & Libations. :)

Readers who attend the group date will have a wonderful time with a sweet--I mean a badass urban fantasy chick.

Hey Vicki!

I'm logging on for my mom, Darlene, since she was hesitant to create an account on MY Space or here. She's 'ols school' ya' know :)

Anyway, she is planning on attending the signing and chat and would love to head on over to the Peppermill after. So consider her signed on. :)

Wish I could make it as well. Have fun! And watch yourself with my mom, you know what a Vegas broad can do when turned lose for a night. :)

cheers
